Ooma Priestman, IBCLC (Lactation Consultant), Doula

Hi there! My name is Ooma and I’m an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Doula serving Winnipeg and surrounds areas.

In 2020 I completed my Lactation Medicine Program at the International Breastfeeding Centre in Toronto, Ontario under the guidance of Dr. Jack Newman and his incredible team of pediatricians and lactation consultants. I am passionate about helping parents solve their concerns at all points of their feeding journey and work to ensure that each client is supported until their goals are achieved. I chose to become a lactation consultant long before I had my own child and my interest and care that I bring to the role has only been further ignited after my own breastfeeding journey.

In addition to my work as a Lactation Consultant, I’ve been a registered Birth Doula for close to 10 years. I received my certification from Doula Canada and remain up-to-date in my knowledge by engaging with mentorship virtually with the incredible team at Carriage House Birth in New York. Because the model of care for my doula services is comprehensive, I only take on a limited number of clients to ensure availability and attentiveness. I deeply believe in doula support and credit my own doula for helping me foster an environment and mindset which allowed me to show up to parenthood fully embodied and confident in my role and choices as a mother.
